The Electoral Commission Election Officer/Transport Jobs in Uganda

Job purpose:

To assist the officer in charge of the Transport Section in the management of the Commission fleet in an effective and efficient manner.

Key Result Areas:

  • Ensuring that the fleet tracking system is fully installed in all Commission vehicles, monitoring the system and generating periodic reports;
  • Scheduling movement of vehicles and maintaining a deployment roster for regular assessment of performance;
  • Assisting in all matters related to vehicle maintenance and ensuring timely servicing, repairs, washing and availability of tyres and batteries in stock;
  • Assisting in preparation of fuel budgets, fuel requisitions and preparation of consumption reports;
  • Making periodic reports on vehicle status and mechanical condition;
  • Participating in the development and updating of the fleet utilization and assets register;
  • Managing motor vehicle accidents cases by following the Road and Safety Act, the Fleet Management Policy and related guidelines;
  • Ensuring that weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual vehicle inspections are carried out to ascertain vehicle and accessories condition;
  • Ensuring that all drivers comply with the Fleet Management Policy, guidelines and any other instructions that may be issued from time to time;
  • Executing other official tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

    Minimum Academic qualifications:

  • An Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Transport Management or Logistics Management or Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering or Business Administration from a recognized University/Institution.

    Preferred Skills and Competences:

  • Knowledge of the Traffic and Road Safety Act;
  • Knowledge of computerized fleet management systems;
  • High level of commitment and working under minimal supervision;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at a time and work effectively with colleagues from different backgrounds;
  • Strong planning, organization and decision making skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Age: Not below twenty-two (22) years of age.
