Caritas Nairobi Socio-economic Empowerment Programme Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Jobs in Kenya
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement a comprehensive M&E framework for the Socioeconomic Empowerment (Self-Help) Programme, including the development of data collection tools, indicators, and baseline surveys.
Regularly collect, analyze, and interpret data related to program activities, outputs, outcomes, and impact, providing timely and accurate reports to stakeholders.
Conduct regular field visits to self-help groups and other projects to assess progress, identify challenges, and ensure adherence to established M&E processes and quality standards.
Collaborate with program staff to ensure proper data recording and reporting from various program components.
Provide technical support and capacity building to program staff, community members, and partners on M&E best practices, data collection, and analysis.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training and capacity-building activities to ensure their relevance and impact on beneficiaries.
Facilitate the development of case studies, success stories, and lessons learned from the program’s implementation to showcase its social impact.
Support program management in making data-driven decisions and continuously improving program strategies and interventions.
Coordinate and contribute to external evaluations and audits of the program as required.
Ensure compliance with Caritas Nairobi and donor reporting requirements regarding M&E activities and progress.
Contribute to the overall organizational learning and knowledge management efforts by sharing M&E findings and lessons across the organization.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field. CPAK and a Master’s degree is a plus.
Proven experience of at least 3 years in monitoring and evaluating socioeconomic empowerment or community development projects/programs.
Strong understanding of M&E frameworks, methodologies, and data collection techniques in the context of development programs.
Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques and software (e.g., SPSS, STATA) to derive meaningful insights from data.
Familiarity with impact assessment and social impact measurement tools is highly desirable.
Experience in designing and implementing baseline surveys and conducting impact evaluations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and present complex data to diverse audiences.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including program staff, beneficiaries, partners, and donors.
Knowledge of the local socioeconomic context and familiarity with the self-help group/Sacco model in Kenya would be advantageous.
Fluency in English and Swahili (both written and spoken) is required.
