The Opportunity
Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for making a difference? Are you excited about taking on a challenging and unique Country Management Team/Country Director-level role involving frequent travel to Trócaire countries? If so, we have an amazing opportunity for you as a Country Management Surge.
In the Country Management Surge role, you will be at the forefront of Trócaire’s efforts to tackle poverty and injustice across the globe. This isn’t your typical role – it’s a chance to be a part of something bigger that transforms lives and communities. You’ll collaborate with local teams, partner organizations, and diverse stakeholders to create a real impact. Whether it’s leading in-country networking, ensuring the safety and security of our teams, or advocating for meaningful change, your contributions will directly influence the lives of vulnerable populations.
In this role, no two days will be the same. One moment, you might be managing critical humanitarian responses; the next, you could provide guidance to local teams on development projects a continent away. You’ll navigate complex challenges, build relationships, and make strategic decisions that ripple through communities, creating lasting change.
Ready at a moment’s notice to provide support in-person or remotely, you will provide strategic vision, lead programme initiatives, manage teams, navigate security challenges, and contribute
to the overall success of our country programmes. Your skills and dedication will be crucial in shaping a better future for communities in need.

Founded in 1973, Trócaire is an Irish International NGO and a member of Caritas Internationalis. We work with local partners in the world’s most at-risk communities and with people in Ireland to tackle the underlying causes of poverty and injustice and respond to the crises injustice and poverty create.
