ANECCA HIV/TB-Care & Treatment officer Jobs in Uganda
Key Duties & responsibilities
Implement evidence-based strategies to ensure linkage to HIV/TB care and treatment at all USAID LPHS ANECCA– Karamoja supported facilities in line with MOH guidelines.
Design and implement tailor made support interventions to enhance ART optimization for children, adolescents and adults by facility-based teams in line with MoH guidelines
Monitor the implementation of providing person-centered services (DSDM), Multi-Month Dispensing (MMD) of ART and TB medicines to all eligible clients with a special focus on children and adolescents by the health facility teams in line with MoH guidelines.
Implement client retention strategies through engagement with district-based mentors, facility teams, counselors and lay workers to implement and account for back to care efforts in line with USAID LPHS ANECCA standard operating procedures
Develop and implement strategies to support facility teams and counselors to fast-track TB management intervention cervical cancer, QI activities and viral load coverage interventions and monitoring of non-suppressors including activation of HIVDR/switch committees and non-suppressors’ clinics in line with Care& treatment and MoH guidelines.
Develop and implement capacity building interventions to support facility and district teams to use QI methodology to address any performance gaps as well as participate in national level QI collaborative e.g. HIV pediatrics and adolescent collaboratives, TB collaboratives etc. in line with USAID LPHS ANECCA program objectives and MOH CQI guidelines.
Document best practices and success stories to enable replication and improvement of USAID LPHS ANECCA – Karamoja program activities in line with CQI and research guidelines.
Prepare and submit activity terms of reference (TORs), budgets, requests, accountabilities and reports in a timely manner
and in accordance with USAID LPHS ANECCA SOPs.
Write and submit weekly, monthly and quarterly reports in line with USAID LPHS ANECCA, MoH and donor reporting guidelines
Participate in other activities as will be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Required Education Training, Experience, other relevant skills& personality attributes
A bachelor’s degree in medicine or Nursing from a recognized Institution/University and registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners/ Nursing Council. A master’s degree in Public Health or related field will be an added
advantage.
At least 3 years’ experience in managing HIV/AIDS services in clinical settings to large scale HIV/AIDS HSS interventions within MoH structures and systems.
Knowledge in HIV/AIDS clinical management, including the current national guidelines for HIV prevention, care and treatment district led programming, use of quality Improvement & Collaborative approaches, implementing USG
programming policies and regulations, MoH and district procedures and practices
Experience and ability to work in hard to reach areas like Karamoja Region
Good report writing skills, research skills analytical skills, networking skills, ability to respond to tight deadlines.
