Uganda Revenue Authority Staff SACCO Investment Officer Jobs in Uganda
Job Role/ Purpose:
To develop and maintain a healthy and growing investment portfolio that maximizes shareholder return
Principal Accountabilities
Ensuring effective Reporting and accountability to the relevant authorities for quality decision making
Reviewing SACCO’s financial statements to determine its financial stability.
Build and maintain financial models to support investment analysis and decision-making.
Prepare detailed investment recommendations for review by management.
Generate reports detailing portfolio performance, risk, and exposure.
Conduct Investment planning, monitoring and control of all investment projects in order to achieve competitive returns on investment
Recommending changes to investment plans based on new information or changing circumstances.
Monitor global economic, political, and market developments to identify opportunities and risks associated with the different investment portfolios.
Conduct fundamental research on companies, industries, and markets to support investment decisions.
Monitor portfolios on an ongoing basis to ensure that positions are consistent with approved investment guidelines.
Conduct a market survey to identify member needs to inform investment decisions and product development.
Carry out Risk identification and management to minimize possible losses on investment
Keep abreast of new developments in the investment industry and share insights with SACCO management.
Working with SACCO members to create a comprehensive financial plan that addresses their current and future needs.
Determining the risk involved in a particular investment based on the nature of the investment, the client’s financial situation and other factors.
Working with Supervisor Investments to set risk appetite for the different SACCO investments.
Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships to ensure implementation of set service standards
Attend and participate in regular management meetings and with other key stakeholders.
Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
Managing the administrative aspects of an investment program, including filing required paperwork with regulators.
Person Specifications
Essential Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics from a reputable Institution.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in investment analysis or portfolio management
Desirable Requirements:
Membership to professional bodies such as ACCA, CPA, CFA
Experience in risk management
Experience in expenditure management and budgetary control
Knowledge
The candidate should possess knowledge of:
Investment planning
Expenditure management and budgetary control
Forecasting investment opportunities
Risk management and assurance
Change management good practices
Negotiation and management
Policy management
Special Skills & Attributes
Possess skill in investment planning
Negotiations and management
Good administrative and public relations skills
Exceptional mathematical skills with the ability to deal with complex financial data
Proven experience developing and managing investment portfolios
Strong understanding of investment products, including stocks, bonds and real estate business
Honest, approachable, team player, intelligible and resourceful
Unquestionable integrity
