recruit a highly experienced Principal to manage Spear Motors Apprenticeship Training Centre
Job Purpose:
To provide day to day technical guidance and leadership in the academic and administrative programmes of the company training centre to ensure students gain the relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes required for the modern auto-industry.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Be the overall accounting officer of the institution.
Participate in hiring, training, supervision staff and assess their performance.
Evaluate staff to ensure that the standardized curriculum is adhered to and identify areas of improvement.
Work with and engage staff in shared vision for effective teaching and learning by implementing a standard based curriculum relevant to student needs and interests.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships by utilizing meaningful feedback of students, staff and parents in the evaluation of school programs and policies.
Maintain a proper financial management system and account for all school funds and money collected from students.
Maintain accurate school records and provide timely records and reports as requested by the Board.
Develop, implement, supervise and monitor effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the school consistent with the company mission, values and goals, including instructional programmes, extracurricular activities.
Establish and maintain effective discipline systems to ensure a safe, healthy and orderly climate for staff management, office operations, programme evaluation and emergency procedures.
Establish the annual school master schedule for instructional programmes, ensuring sequential learning experiences for students consistent with the company mission and goals.
Communicate with the board regularly about the needs, successes and general operation of the school.
Protect confidentiality of records and information gained as part of exercising professional duties and use discretion in sharing such information within legal confines.
Submit progress and summary reports to the Chairman and Managing Director on staff and student performance, instructional programmes, discipline matters as required.
To plan and chair meetings of the institute.
Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Person Specification / Job Requirement:
The applicant must be a holder a Bachelors’ Degree in any Engineering, Technical field from a recognised university.
Post Graduate qualifications in Technical / Vocational Teacher Education.
Certificate or Diploma in Technical Teacher Education CTTE / DTTE or its equivalent.
7 years’ experience in a reputable institution, 3 of which should have been at the level of Principal/Deputy.
Must be registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports.
Clear understanding of Vocational School management
Proficiency in computer use.
Excellent interpersonal, public relations and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
