Options seeks to engage an Interpreter/Translator for the provision of language translations from English to Amharic and vice versa translation services for a workshop that will be held from 18th to 21st September 2023 in Ethiopia under the Girl Generation (TGG): Support to the Africa Led Movement to End Female Genital Mutilation.

Responsibilities:

The Translator/interpreter will be expected to provide interpretation services during the training proceedings in English to Amharic, feedback from Amharic-speaking participants to English; and translation services as may be necessary.

They will also ensure all the workshop participants and the trainers communicate effectively including translating to individual trainers for clarifications as may be necessary. They might be expected to translate any document as may be required for use in the workshop training.

Person specification:

Be highly qualified and proficient in spoken and written English.

Hold an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution in English, literature, journalism, or other relevant field

Have at least 2 years of experience in minutes taking, reporting or other documentation processes.

Demonstrate the ability to use a neat, concise and clear style in writing and communication.

Ability to edit documents/reports to required standards.

Sound experience in rapporteur of technical workshops

Good report-writing skills

Ability to meet project deadlines with no supervision.
