Duties

Under the direct supervision of th Regional Warehouse Manager. The incumbent is responsible for management of the warehouse daily operations. He/she is responsible for managing the non-expendable supply program for Pretoria and Johannesburg’s furniture pool; the scheduling of daily work orders; preparation of the next day’s work by the Storekeepers; receipt of all procured property; its safe handling, and storage.

Incumbent is responsible for the property supply chain for the regional warehouse in Pretoria and Johannesburg, and keeping track of all property issued and returned. Directly supervises 16 workers and a supply chain worth $25 million.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Experience:

A minimum three years progressively responsible logistic/warehouse experience of which two years supervisory experience is required.

Job Knowledge:

Detailed knowledge of warehousing and inventory operations to include receiving and disposing is required.

Knowledge of proper storage and handling/maneuvering of equipment and supplies and warehouse management control system is required.

Education Requirements:

Successful completion of secondary school (matric) is required.

Evaluations:

Language:

A good working knowledge of speaking, Reading, and Writing of English is required.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to organize, manage and supervise the warehouse supply chain functions is required.

Must be computer literate with strong communication skills both oral and written.

Basic familiarity with MS Word and Excel is required.

Ability to lift maximum of 50lbs is required.
