For context: This might be an odd question, but I guess it‘s the premise of the sub so here I go.. Alcoholics of Reddit, how did you cope with the recurring smell of alcohol in disinfectants that are frequently used since the pandemic? I often find them to smell like Tequila and I have heard that the smell of alcohol can be triggering for some people who struggle with addiction. While I know this is presumably not the case for everyone who struggles in this regard, I wondered how it affected the people who did in fact felt/feel triggered by this kind of smell..
I also wondered, how this issue was/is handled in rehab facilities. I heard that they are usually confiscating everything that contains alcohol such as nail polish remover. However, these are medical facilities who have an immense responsibility over their patients. Were they able to provide disinfectants? And what about prisons?
