Why has reddit stopped using “le” instead of “the”?

It really only ever came up, or comes up, when the site results in a hug of death for some other site. I think it’s less common now because most things that “blow up” either just get mirrored or already exist on some other social media that utilizes cloudflare or whatever. Just less hugs of death these days.
