I deal with emotional trauma by first acknowledging it, letting myself feel whatever it is I’m feeling without judgement. Then I try to look at the situation objectively, and ask myself what I can learn from this experience. It’s also important to have a support system of people who understand and are willing to listen without trying to fix or judge me. Finally, I try to find ways to take care of myself — whether it’s through physical activity, talking with friends, or just taking some time for self-care. It’s not always easy but it helps me stay grounded in the present moment and move forward.
