What do you think is missing from someone’s high school experience?

When I was little, I was always like, ” Oh wow, high school looks so exciting. I can’t wait!” But now, ever since I crossed the final frontier of my education, it’s really been a shit show in comparison to what I expected.

First off, we were forced to wear uniforms, so everyone’s clothing choices weren’t as expressive or eccentric as though they were going to be. Everyone I talked to had a pretty mid mood. Barely anyone seemed excited to do anything on any day, not to mention most of their personalities could fit into less than a handful of categories, even the extracurricular students seemed fake or gray in character. Most of them brushed off school events like Homecoming or Prom, so aside from dancing, it wasn’t really that lively. Lockers were either gone or not used. The party life during the holidays, like the Halloween season, was completely nonexistent, and the one party I went to wasn’t filled with people of my age group but just toddlers crawling across the rug and middle aged mothers throwing it back all while me and my cousin ate mini sandwiches and drunk soda in the corner. I never got to hang out with anyone outside of school, not even for projects. It’s all so damn boring, and I’m here to ask why. Is it the state or city I’m in? Is it me. Have times changed too much?
