What’s up with people who speak endlessly and dominate meetings and conversations?

Sometimes it is insecurity. They don’t want to stop talking or else someone will counter their point and they know they won’t respond well. Still, they have to be present, look informed and useful. Making succinct points and listening does that. Maybe they need to have that reinforced in a friendly way.
