I’m from Canada originally. Grew up there. Been to several other countries with strict gun laws. I carry often here in the US.
It doesn’t change my perception when I’m in other countries. Why? Because access to guns is very very difficult there. So I have no worries that someone is gonna pull a gun and try to rob me when I’m there. If you ban guns in the US, the only people who will get rid of them are some of the (previously) legal gun owners. So if you disarm yourself then the literal only people in the country with guns would be military, law enforcement, and criminals.
The military keeps their guns locked up pretty securely for the most part. Law enforcement is mostly reactionary, so they’re unlikely to help you in time if you’re at serious risk of death or great bodily harm. Criminals are criminals. So they can rob you, assault you, threaten you and murder you with very little risk of being harmed themselves now.
