Because it’s easier to control such a massive amount of people if they’re all paranoid (news media), sick and massively in debt. Especially with so many outlets propagating that socialised healthcare is on par with the antichrist. Like caring about your fellow man and everyone giving a little bit to help the greater good is such a bad thing.
