Probably not for now
Because adhd treatment is very much a structural and behavioural intervention just as much as it is a medical intervention.
I am doing both. And my meds themselves are already struggling to work the way they should..like the effect wears off too fast etc.. but i also know if i go off them (done that several times because doctors changed and i just didn’t get the prescription in time) my whole array of other structural help and therapeutic interventions will also fall by the wayside.
I tried everything under the sun really so far adhd meds are just the only thing working as a good baseline. And even those barely work if not paired with a good structure and exercise habit…
Then again i got quite the bad case of adhd.. many people can go without medication… but if it works it works.
I also do not trust myself behind a steering wheel unmedicated, i know how i was pre medication and when they were not used.. and i do not want to make accidents.
Adhd meds are not a fix all solution, they are at best like a ramp for a disabled person or a pair of reading glasses for someone who needs them….the behavioural and therapeutic/ structural interventions still need to take place.
