If you still have a “home” phone line, what is the use of it with almost everyone carrying their own cellphones?

My parents had to have one for far too long because they needed it to hook up a device that took readings from my Dad’s pacemaker, sent them to his cardiologist, who could then tell the machine to make adjustments to the pacemaker, if needed.

It was kind of wild, TBH.
