How do you think a GOOD metaverse, one not run by Zuckerberg or corporate interests, could be used to actually help humanity?

I think “VR realities” have massive potential to be good for humanity as the technology gets closer to the Matrix.

For example: I bet it could be almost a form of therapy for transgender people to be able to immerse themselves in a virtual reality where they are free to be the gender they identify as and within that reality it is what they are.
